Southwest Baptist recap
The Maryville women's basketball team put four players in double-figures to roar past Southwest Baptist 82-66 Saturday in Moloney Arena.
Mary Barton paced the Saints with 20 points and eight assists, while
Abby Monis had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Jayda Jansen tallied 16 points, and
Hunter Stidham contributed 12.
UU Longs hauled down a career-high 11 rebounds and just missed a double-double with eight points. The Saints shot 50.8 percent from the field.

What Happened
Leading 22-18, the Saints outscored the Bearcats 21-10 in the second. Jayden hit a jumper to start an 11-0 run. Stidham drilled a 3-pointer, and Monis scored inside on two straight possessions. Barton nailed a long three for a 33-20 advantage. The lead was still 37-27 before Maryville closed the half by scoring six of the last seven points and a 43-28 margin.

Early in the third, Stidham sank a runner in the paint, and Jansen converted in the lane and one free throw for a 51-32 edge. Back-to-back triples by Jansen and Barton pushed Maryville to its largest lead of the day at 63-40 with 3:23 left in the quarter. The Saints still led 65-47 heading to the fourth, and was still 69-49 with 9:03 remaining. The Bearcats made a run and cut the gap down to single digits. However, the Saints answered with a 9-0 run to seal the victory.
Karlee Feldman powered up for a bucket, and Jansen splashed down a 3-pointer. Another basket by Feldman and two free throws by Stidham pushed the gap up to 16.
