Maryville's women's basketball team was looking to sweep Southwest Baptist but the Bearcats used a late run to rally for a 68-59 victory.
Mary Barton poured in 27 points while
Karlee Feldman hauled down 11 rebounds to pace the Saints in Bolivar, Mo., Thursday evening. Maryville led by eight points with eight minutes to play before SBU embarked on its big run.

What Happened
Up by one point at halftime, the Saints started the third quarter with an 11-5 run. Barton hit a 3-pointer, and
Abby Monis followed with a layup. After an SBU score,
Olivia Kastens knocked down a jumper while Barton sank two free throws. Maryville kept the lead and pushed the margin to 45-36 on a
Jayda Jansen jumper heading to the fourth quarter.

Jansen drained a 3-pointer as the Saints took a 48-40 lead two minutes into the final quarter. However, the Bearcats rallied and used a 12-0 burst to jump ahead 56-50. Barton finally scored a three-point play to break the Maryville dry spell and cut the deficit to 56-53 with 2:38 to play. The Saints scored on their next possession to inch to 56-55 at the 2:01 mark. However, the Bearcats drained consecutive 3-pointers to take a 62-55 lead with 51.3 seconds left. SBU sealed the win by hitting 6-of-8 free throws in the final minute.
Jansen added 14 points and six rebounds, while
Abby Monis chipped in eight points and seven boards.
