Missouri S&T Recap
Antoinette Mussorici poured in 27 points to pace the Maryville women's basketball team to an 83-71 triumph over Missouri S&T in the season opener for both teams. The contest was the first Great Lakes Valley Conference contest, too. Mussorici hit 13 straight free throws and also tied for the team lead with five assists.
Karlee Feldman notched a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

What Happened
The Saints scored on the opening possession and never gave up the lead. The Lady Miners scored on a free throw, but
Hunter Stidham converted a three-point play. Mussorici had a steal and sank the first of her 14 free throws on the day for a 7-1 lead. The Saints scored the first nine points of the second quarter and stretched their advantage to 28-14. Missouri S&T got as close as five points but Stidham hit a triple and a late jumper by Mussorici put the Saints up 43-31 at halftime.

Maryville began the third with another 11-0 burst and soared out to its biggest lead of the day at 54-31. The edge was 66-53 heading into the final quarter. Missouri S&T made a late push and cut the deficit down to nine but the Saints kept the visitors at bay down the stretch to open the year on a positive note.
