JT Morgan made a corner triple for an 8-5 edge, a lead the Saints would not surrender the rest of the way. Long drilled a trey, and Farris scores on a layup for a 15-7 edge. Truman got as close as 28-27 before Jackson sank a jumper, and
Donovan Parker hit a 3-pointer.
Davis Walker scored inside and another Parker trey built a 38-27 lead. The Saints took a 45-37 cushion into halftime.
Â
Early in the second half, Walker sank a 3-pointer as Maryville rebuild a double-digit lead at 49-39. Truman stayed close and trimmed its deficit down to 54-51. Jackson answered with a long 3-pointer, and Long went coast-to-coast for a 59-51 advantage. The Bulldogs rallied again as the Maryville margin stood at 65-60 until Jackson drained another 3-pointer. Morgan converted two at the line to push Maryville back on top 70-60 with 6:12 left. The Saints still led by 10 before one final push by TSU brought the Bulldogs to 82-79. However, Walker scored with one second left on the shot clock, and two free throws by Farris with 23 seconds remaining iced the game.
