Truman State Recap
A furious second-half comeback narrowly fell short as the Maryville women's basketball team dropped a 67-62 decision to Truman State Thursday afternoon. The Saints trailed by as many as 20 points and rallied to tie the game but the Lady Bulldogs snuck out of Moloney Arena with the late victory.

What Happened
Down 36-16 at halftime, the Saints started the third quarter with a 10-0 burst to jump back into the contest.
Hunter Stidham ignited the run with a wing 3-pointer.
Jayda Jansen followed with a runner in the lane then nailed a triple from the top of the key. She continued the burst with a layup to bring the Saints to 36-26 at the 6:57 mark. Truman State finally scored to end its scoring drought.
Donnetta Colbert made a layup, and two free throws by
Carsyn Fearday pulled Maryville to within single digits 39-30 with four minutes left. The Saints trimmed the deficit to 43-39 on a Fearday 3-pointer from the right corner. After a stop, Maryville had a short shot to get even closer but Truman threw in a long 3-pointer at the buzzer for a 46-39 advantage.

Down 53-45 at the 6:53 mark, the Saints rallied to forge a tie. Stidham scored inside, and Mussorici splashed in a trey.
Jayda Jansen's layup cut Truman's lead to 53-52 with 5:35 left. TSU still led 57-54 until Jansen drilled a 3-pointer for a 57-57 tie with 3:37 remaining. Truman scored on back-to-back trips to rebuild a 61-57 lead. Fearday drove the lane for a bucket at 61-59 at the 1:47 mark. Truman pushed the cushion back to five but the closest the Saints got was 64-60 in the final minute.
