At the 2020 Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships, the Maryville wrestling team defeated Drury 37-9 but lost to No. 7 Lindenwood 20-13 to close out conference action. The Saints finished the league schedule with a 3-3 record, while No. 2 McKendree claimed the league title with a 6-0 slate this year.

Against the Panthers, the Saints jumped out to a quick 11-0 lead as
Tyler Kreith picked up a forfeit win at 125, and
Anthony Pisciotta notched a 17-2 tech fall at 133.
Tyler Stegall won 7-1 at 141, while
Tyler Stegall posted a 6-1 decision at 149.
Tanner Sparks worked a 5-2 victory at 157, while
Tyler Harrington rolled to an 18-4 major at 165.
Matt Pratt shut out his 174 foe 9-0.
Bailey Kelly (184) and
John Anderson (197) both notched falls in 5:21 and 2:56 respectively.

In a battle of ranked 125 individuals, No. 3 Carlos Jacquez edged Kreith 3-2 to give the Lions an early lead. After No. 11 Tanner Hitchcock took a narrow 133 decision, Lindenwood took the next three bouts, including No. 4 Danny Swan at 149. Harrington got the Saints on the board as he worked for a 7-4 decision. Kelly started a late rally for the Saints as he picked up a 15-6 major at 184, while Anderson posted a thrilling 2-1 decision in TB-1 at the 197 weight class.
Logan Radik made it three straight wins for the Saints with a 9-1 major at heavyweights but the Saints were unable to overcome the early Lindenwood lead.
Later in the evening, the GLVC announced that
Tyler Harrington earned second-team All-GLVC honors at 165, while
Bret Heil (174) and
Bailey Kelly (184) were selected to the All-GLVC Honorable Mention squads.

The Saints are off until they begin their postseason run when they travel to Hays, Kan., for the NCAA Division II Super Region Sunday, March 1.
