Indianapolis recap
The Maryville women's basketball team opened the game with a 12-0 run and cruised to an important 91-62 triumph over Indianapolis.
Mary Barton tallied 24 points, while
Hunter Stidham reached a career high with 20 points while hitting all four 3-pointers.
Abby Monis recorded a double-double with 18 points and 17 rebounds. The 91 points are the most the Saints have scored this season and their highest output since tallying 92 against Bellarmine Jan. 5, 2019.

What Happened
Stidham drilled a 3-pointer to open the scoring, and
Abby Monis grabbed an offensive rebound and her putback pushed the lead to a quick 5-0. Barton sank two free throws, and
Jayda Jansen knocked down a jumper. Stidham's second triple pushed the Maryville margin to 12-0 and forced a UIndy timeout. The visitors finally scored their first points of the game at the 6:52 mark. The Saints were up 18-9 until Monis and a 3-pointer by Barton built a 23-9 lead. Maryville eventually scored a season-high 32 points in the quarter and took a 10-point lead after 10 minutes. The Saints kept the lead and were up by as many as 36-23 but UIndy chipped away and closed to 44-37 by halftime.

The Saints took control in the third quarter and outscored the Greyhounds by a 23-7 margin. UIndy trailed just 44-39 before Maryville reeled off a 13-0 burst. Barton splashed in a 3-pointer, and Stidham scored on a layup. Jaysen and Stidham nailed consecutive 3-pointers, and a Monis jumper extended the advantage to 57-39. The Greyhounds were down 17 before the Saints put the game away with an 8-0 burst. Maryville steadily pulled away in the fourth quarter.

Stidham and Barton both nailed four 3-pointers as Maryville made 11 from beyond the arc while shooting 50.0 percent from deep. Monis controlled the glass and had 12 of her 17 boards on the defensive end. Jansen finished with 15 points and six assists, while Barton dished a game-high seven assists. The Saints led the game for 39 minutes and 21 seconds. During the game, Barton broke the single season scoring of 570 by Sue Beck during the 1985-86 campaign and currently has 573 points. In addition, Barton moved past Abby Duethman into second place on the career scoring list.
