Owen Long was fouled on a 3-pointer to break the BU run. The visitors tacked on a 7-0 burst and built a 23-7 edge. Bellarmine stayed hot from the field and finished the opening half shooting 66.7 percent after 20 minutes.

Early in the second half, Dezmond McDaniel made a jumper to start a 7-0 run. Chris White knocked down a wing jumper, and Gant scored inside to bring the Saints to 50-31. Long and McDaniel hit consecutive triples as the Saints cut the gap to 54-37 with 10:38 remaining. However, the Saints were unable to get any closer as Bellarmine closed out the game shooting 60 percent in the contest.
