Bellarmine recap
Owen Long poured in a career-high 26 points but hot-shooting Bellarmine moved past the Maryville men's basketball team 77-59 Saturday afternoon in Moloney Arena. The freshman guard hit 8-of-14 shots and converted nine free throws to pace the Saints.
Dezmond McDaniel added 13 points, while
Parker Long handed out eight assists.

What Happened
Ross Ryan scored on the opening possession of the game before the Knights tallied six straight to take the lead. He tallied again but the Knights went on a 10-0 run to surge ahead.
Owen Long was fouled on a 3-pointer to break the BU run. The visitors tacked on a 7-0 burst and built a 23-7 edge. Bellarmine stayed hot from the field and finished the opening half shooting 66.7 percent after 20 minutes.

Early in the second half,
Dezmond McDaniel made a jumper to start a 7-0 run.
Chris White knocked down a wing jumper, and Gant scored inside to bring the Saints to 50-31. Long and McDaniel hit consecutive triples as the Saints cut the gap to 54-37 with 10:38 remaining. However, the Saints were unable to get any closer as Bellarmine closed out the game shooting 60 percent in the contest.

The Saints hit 15-of-25 shots in the second half (60 percent) and converted 82.4 percent at the free-throw line.
