Southern Indiana recap
The Maryville men's basketball team led Southern Indiana for nearly 29 minutes of play but the Screaming Eagles rallied in the second half for a 72-61 win.
Dezmond McDaniel paced the Saints with 17 points, while
Owen Long hit 6-of-8 shots, including all three 3-pointers, to finish with 15 points.

What Happened
Holding a 12-11 lead, the Saints scored seven straight points.
Dezmond McDaniel drained a 3-pointer,
Parker Long scored a bucket, and another McDaniel jumper was good for a 19-11 lead. USI edged back to within 24-21 before Maryville used an 8-2 burst. Parker and
Owen Long both scored inside, and after a USI bucker, the pair each knocked down jumpers for a 32-23 advantage with three minutes to play. The Screaming Eagles tallied back-to-back buckets before
Parker Long and
Chris White rebuilt a 36-27 margin. Maryville settled for a 36-29 lead at halftime. The Saints shot 53.3 percent (16-of-30) in the first half and committed only three turnovers.

USI tried to cut into the Maryville margin but the Saints still led 41-33 after an
Owen Long triple. Maryville stayed ahead and
Parker Long's basket was good for a 50-47 edge midway through the second half. USI scored five straight and took its first lead of the second half at the 7:52 mark.
Chris Williams answered for the Saints to push them back ahead 53-52 with 7:30 to play. The visitors went on a short 5-0 burst until McDaniel drilled another 3-pointer to trim the deficit to 57-56 with 5:05 remaining. However, the Screaming Eagles retook the lead with an 11-2 run and kept the Saints at bay.

Parker Long finished with 12 points and had four assists.
Chris White topped the Saints with five rebounds.
