Owen Long rattled in the game-winning 3-pointer with 12.9 seconds left to boost the Maryville men's basketball team to a thrilling 62-61 victory over McKendree. With the game tied at 59-all, Long pulled up from the top of the key, and his trey proved to be the difference in the waning seconds.

What Happened
The Saints were trailing 59-52 with 2:08 before mounting the game-winning run.
Zach Colletta drove down the lane for a layup, and then scored again on the next possession via a drive to pull the Saints to within 59-56. The Maryville defense forced a McKendree turnover to get the ball back.
Parker Long dribbled up the middle and splashed in a deep three from up top to put forge a 59-59 tie.

The Bearcats were looking to score but
Dezmond McDaniel stepped into the passing lane to come up with a steal. Maryville called a timeout to set up the final sequence, and
Owen Long delivered the clutch shot. McKendree scored on its next possession and was unable to score at the buzzer as the Saints won their first Great Lakes Valley Conference game of the season.

Parker Long both finished with 15 points to pace the Maryville attack. The pair sank three 3-pointers apiece. McDaniel added 10 points to help the Saints offense and had the key late steal.
