Southern Indiana recap
The Maryville women's basketball team took a one-point lead in the fourth quarter against Southern Indiana but the visitors rallied for a 61-54 victory in Moloney Arena.
Mary Barton tallied 20 points, while
Jayda Jansen added 14 points.
Abby Monis recorded a double-double with 14 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.

What Happened
Leading 6-4, the Saints scored seven straight points and kept USI off the board for over eight minutes.
Jayda Jansen hit a 3-pointer and added jumper.
Abby Monis had a fastbreak layup as the Saints went up 13-4 after the first quarter. The Screaming Eagles scored the first five points of the second before
Karlee Feldman scored. USI edged to within 15-14 but Monis answered for a 17-14 lead. Two free throws by Mary Baton pushed the Maryville edge to 21-18. The visitors went on a 9-0 to take the lead and were up 32-23 at halftime.

The Screaming Eagles built up an 11-point lead but the Saints answered with a 7-2 run to close the gap to 40-35. Another 5-0 burst cut the deficit to 42-40 but USI took a 47-41 advantage into the fourth quarter. Maryville scored the first six points of the fourth as Monis, Jansen and Barton all knocked down jumpers to forge a 47-47 tie. USI made one free throw before Barton scored to give the Saints a 49-48 lead at the 7:45 mark. The Screaming Eagles jumped back ahead with a 9-0 run until Jansen ended the streak with a jumper to cut the USI cushion to 57-51. The Saints drew as close as 59-54 with just over 24 seconds to play but the Screaming Eagles iced the game with two late free throws.
