The Maryville men's lacrosse team was dealt an 11-10 defeat in overtime at Catawba Sunday afternoon in Salisbury, N.C. The Saints let a late lead slip away, and Catawba converted the first possession in overtime for the game winner.

What Happened
The Saints trailed 5-4 at halftime but surged ahead by scoring three times in the third quarter.
Declan Mulholland tied the game at 5-5 before the Indians retook the lead. Maryville tied the game on a
Jacob Allen tally, and
Zach Steltzer found the back of the net for a 7-6 led at the 5:40 mark.

Jake Foster scored four minutes into the fourth and again on a man-up situation for a 9-6 edge. The home side picked up a goal but
Parker Lee answered to rebuild a three-goal lead with 3:41 to play. Catawba cut into the Maryville margin at 10-8 with three minutes remaining. In the final minute, the Saints were looking to close out the win but the Indians scored twice to force overtime.

In the extra session, Catawba won the faceoff and scored 36 seconds in for the game-winning score. Foster led the Saints with three goals, while Allen and Mulholland both tallied twice.
