Rockhurst Recap
The Maryville women's basketball team jumped Rockhurst at the outset of the contest and cruised to an 82-51 victory Saturday afternoon in Kansas City, Mo. The Saints scored the first seven points of the game and 20 of the initial 22 points to take early control.
Jayda Jansen narrowly missed a double-double as she scored 21 points with a career-best nine rebounds and four steals.
Antoinette Mussorici finished with 19 points, a season-high eight rebounds and five assists.

What Happened
The Saints defense forced Rockhurst to miss its first six shots as Maryville grabbed a 7-0 lead. The Saints hit three free throws before
Jayda Jansen scored on consecutive layups. The Hawks finally got on the scoreboard after nearly five minutes of play. The Saints reeled off a 13-0 run to take early command at 20-2.
Karlee Feldman started the run with two free throws with a jumper by Jansen.
Antoinette Mussorici drilled a 3-pointer as she tallied eight during a 10-point spree. Rockhurst hit only its second basket of the game before Maryville settled for a 23-5 advantage after the opening quarter. The Hawks only hit two of 15 shots (13.3 percent) in the first 10 minutes.

Maryville opened the second quarter like the first with eight of the first 10 points to extend its margin to 31-7. The Saints run their margin up to a 20-point advantage and led by as much as 46-19 on
Carsyn Fearday's basket in the final minute. Maryville took a 46-21 cushion into the break. The Saints salted the game away with a 9-3 run early in the third quarter to take their largest lead of the day at 55-24.

Taylor Kirby added 10 points with four boards, and
Donnetta Colbert chipped in eight points and three rebounds. The Saints converted 24 free throws and held Rockhurst to 28.3 percent shooting from the field. The 31-point winning margin is the largest of the season and the biggest since an 86-55 win over Missouri S&T Jan. 24, 2015.
