Southwest Baptist Recap
The Maryville men's basketball team hung close with a Southwest Baptist side receiving votes in the national poll but the Bearcats moved away in the second half to down the Saints 70-54.
Daniel Farris topped the Saints with 11 points.
Kamto Eze snared eight rebounds, while
Donovan Parker aided the defensive efforts with five blocked shots. The Saints defense limited the Bearcats to 40 percent shooting.

What Happened
The Bearcats took a narrow lead of 15-10 to open the game. The Saints scored five straight points to tie the game.
Jaelon Hood had a driving layup, and
Donovan Parker sank a 3-pointer from the corner for a 15-15 deadlock. SBU went on a 7-0 burst until
Daniel Farris scored in the lane and converted a three-point play. He recorded another and-one to pull the Saints to within 22-21 with 6:13 left in the half. The visitors inched ahead and took a 36-29 edge into the break.

 SBU sank two 3-pointers early in the second half before two free throws by
Ari Jackson.
Owen Long sank a triple to draw Maryville back to 45-36 but the Bearcats used an 8-0 run to extend their cushion. Southwest Baptist pushed its advantage over 20 until the Saints made a late push. Maryville used a 9-3 run but was never able to trim the deficit to single figures.
