Ari Jackson hit crucial back-to-back 3-pointers late as the Maryville men's basketball team downed Drury 68-59. The Saints defeated the Panthers for the first time in 13 meetings, with the last win coming Feb. 9, 2012.
Daniel Farris scored a game-high 18 points, while
Owen Long had 13 points, and
Donovan Parker finished with 11.
JT Morgan hauled down a career-high 12 rebounds.

What Happened
The Saints led for most of the first half and took a 36-29 advantage into halftime. Drury closed to 38-33 before Maryville answered with an 8-0 burst.
Kamto Eze started the run with a layup before Long and Parker sank consecutive 3-pointers for a 46-33 lead. The Panthers came back with a 9-1 surge to inch within 49-48 with 8:23 left. Morgan answered with consecutive three-point plays to rebuild a 55-48 margin.

With the lead standing at 55-53, Jackson hit a straight away 3-pointer for a 58-53 advantage with 3:13 remaining. After a defensive stop, Jackson again pulled from beyond the arc and his triple was good for a 61-53 lead. Parker converted two free throws as the Saints went back up by double digits. The Saints hit five free throws in the final minute to close out the victory. Eze defended the paint for the Saints and had five blocks in the game. The Saints hit 11 3-pointers in the game and held Drury to 37.1 percent shooting. Jackson finished with nine points and added four boards.
