UMSL Recap
The Maryville volleyball team was looking for its first victory of the season but the University of Missouri-St. Louis made the cross-town trek and emerged from Moloney Arena with a 3-0 win. Set scores were 25-18, 25-20, 25-16.
Karolina Rodowski had seven kills along with five blocks, while
Hannah Scrum also had seven kills and four digs.
Mikaela Kues finished with six kills, 11 assists, four blocks, and three digs.
A.J. Hallemann paced Maryville with 15 digs.

What Happened
Maryville was down 7-6 before the Tritons tallied four straight. The Saints answered with three-in-a-row. Scrum had a kill before a block by Kues and
Karolina Rodowski pulled Maryville to 11-8. An UMSL miscue made the score 11-9 but the Tritons tallied four straight. The Saints answered with a 3-0 run. Rodowski had a kill, UMSL hit a ball out, and
Abbie Schnell's ace drew Maryville to 15-12. UMSL scored four of the next five to take the first set.

UMSL led in the second set 8-4 until the Saints stormed back to tie the contest at 9-9.
Grace Knadler had a kill, and
A.J. Hallemann served an ace. Rodowski and Scrum combined on a kill. After an UMSL score, a Triton error and a kill by Scrum tied the procedings at 9-all. The score was still deadlocked at 12-12 until the Tritons tallied five straight. The Saints cut the deficit to three on two occasions but UMSL took a 2-0 lead.

Trailing in the third 2-1, the Saints reeled off a 4-0 burst. After an UMSL error, Kues sandwiched two kills around a block by
Taylor Keck and
Ella Kosky for a 5-2 lead. The Tritons took a one-point advantage but the Saints came back for an 11-10 edge. However, UMSL went on a 5-0 run to take control and close out the match.
