Lindenwood Recap
Playing its first road contest of the season, the Maryville volleyball fell short at Lindenwood as the Lions prevailed in three. Set scores in St. Charles were 25-20, 27-25, 25-11.
Mikaela Kues topped the Saints with eight kills and added 12 assists.
Abbie Schnell finished with 18 assists, while
A.J. Hallemann recorded 11 digs.

What Happened
Lindenwood led 14-8 before the Saints made a charge with a 6-1 burst.
Hannah Scrum's kills started the run, and Kues and
Avery Bell had a block. After an LU point, the Lions committed an error, and Hallemann served an ace. Kues had a kill and worked a block with
Karolina Rodowski to pull the Saints to 15-14.
Rachel Hurt and Rodowski notched a block to get Maryville within 17-16 but the Saints could not tie the set.

The Lions held a small lead over the Saints for most of set two before a Kues kill tied the score at 17-17. Maryville was still down 23-21 but forged a tie at 23-all. Lindenwood had set point but Scrum's kill knotted the set. The Lions had another try at the set but committed a service error for another 25-25 deadlock. However, the home squad scored two straight to take the set. The Saints had their best hitting percentage of the match with a .293 mark in the second game.

The Saints took a one-point lead three times early in the third set. The Lions finally went up 9-6 until Scrum tipped in a point. Lindenwood used a 6-0 to break the set open. Kues terminated a pass from Schnell but the Lions tacked on another 5-0 run to close out the match.
