Kaltwasser Grabs Goal and Assist in 2-1 Victory Over S&T

St. Louis, Mo. – Forward Amanda Kaltwasser led the charge for the Maryville University women's soccer team Sunday afternoon with a goal and an assist in a 2-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over Missouri S&T at Maryville Field. The goal and assist give the senior a team-leading 10 points on the year.

The Run of Play – The Saints fired off 12 shots in the first 45 minutes, but the Miner defense stepped in front to block six attempts. The match went into the halftime intermission scoreless.

The Maryville offense came alive to start the second half. In the 47th minute, sophomore Lexi Gentry received a throw-in and beat two defenders to the end line before playing a centering ball to a wide open Kaltwasser at the six-yard box, who tapped in her fourth goal of the year to give the Saints a 1-0 lead. Two minutes later, Kaltwasser played a ball into the box where Roni Norwood poked it through to Tori Calvert who doubled the Saints lead with her third goal of the year.

Sophomore goalie Keely Monroe made four big saves in the final thirty minutes and let up a late goal to lead Maryville to a 2-1 victory over Missouri S&T
