Springfield, Ill. – The Maryville volleyball squad was looking to end its trip in the Land of Lincoln with a victory but host Illinois Springfield used a strong attack to down the Saints in three. UIS claimed a 25-12, 25-18, 25-12 decision Saturday afternoon in Springfield.
Makenna Brauman had seven kills to top the offensive attack for the Saints, while
Taylor Keck came off the bench and supplied five kills.

What Happened
The hosts jumped on top as they scored the first four points of the match before the Saints recorded their initial point. UIS used another mini run and pushed its margin out to double digits.
Makenna Brauman had three kills in the opening set for the Saints. The Prairie Stars opened set two with the edge.

Taylor Keck recorded a kill and an ace by
Regina Elguezabal pulled Maryville to within 19-15. The Saints looked to push the match to a fourth set but the Prairie Stars recorded their best hitting percentage in the match to end the contest in three sets.
