Lebanon, Ill. – The Maryville University women's soccer team traveled across the state line to take on McKendree University Sunday afternoon and fell by a score of 1-0.
 
The Run of Play – No shots on goal were logged in the first 45 minutes of a defensive standoff in Lebanon, Ill. The second half continued with solid defense from both teams, but the Bearcats snuck one past the Saints in the 69^th minute. Goalkeeper Elyse Waterhouse made two saves in the final 20 minutes to keep the women in the match. Sophomore Lexi Gentry fired off the last chance for the Saints in the 83^rd minute but the shot sailed over the crossbar. The Saints fell to the Bearcats 1-0.
 
Inside the Numbers – Defenders Ulrika Bredin, Molly Krispin, and Brooke Slater joined Waterhouse as the four Saints to play all 90 minutes.

Next Up – The women's program returns home for its final weekend series of the regular season. The first match of the weekend is against Lewis University Friday, Oct. 29, at 2:30 p.m. at Maryville Field.
