St. Louis – The Maryville men's basketball eased to a 73-65 victory over Fontbonne Tuesday night in the home opener for the Saints in Moloney Arena.
Dylan Ingram led Maryville with 18 points, while
Cameron Scales narrowly missed a double-double and finished with 17 points and nine rebounds, plus had six steals. The Saints shot 62.9 percent from inside the arc.

What Happened:
The Saints used a 10-0 run to charge ahead. Leading 10-7, Scales drained a jumper, and David Walker hit a turnaround jumper.
JT Morgan scored two straight trips in the lane, and
Kelvin Swims grabbed an offensive board and his putback pushed the Maryville margin to 20-7 at the 12:10 mark. The Saints maintained a double-digit lead and went up by as many at 16.
Jaeden Smith drained a 3-pointer in the final minute for a 35-19 edge, and the Saints took a 37-21 lead into halftime.

Swims crashed the offensive glass again and his putback gave Maryville a 48-34 advantage.
Ari Jackson scored on a drive to give the Saints a 59-46 lead with just under seven minutes to play. Yet another triple by Jackson built a 67-54 margin at the 3:21 mark. Fontbonne drained some late 3-pointers to cut the deficit to single digits but the Saints held on to record a win in their first home game of the year.
