St. Louis – The Maryville men's basketball team rolled to a 100-57 triumph over East-West University to open the Maryville Thanksgiving Classic. The Saints shot 55.1 percent from the field, knocked down 15 3-pointers and put four players in double figures in scoring. Maryville scored 100 points for the first time since recording 106 against Lindenwood-Belleville Dec. 8, 2018.

What Happened:
The Saints used an early 8-0 run to take a double-digit lead.
Daniel Farris scored on a layup to start the run, and
Cameron Scales sank two free throws.
Davis Walker made a driving layup, and
Kelvin Swims threw down a dunk in transition for a 19-6 lead at the 14:44 mark. The Saints kept a comfortable margin and were up 30-21 before embarking on a monster run.

Maryville scored the final 21 points of the first half and blanked the Phantoms over the final eight minutes.
Dylan Ingram started the run with an offensive rebound and put back.
Ari Jackson drilled a 3-pointer, and Scales scored back-to-back buckets. Ingram had another offensive board lead to a bucket as the Maryville margin grew to 41-21. The Saints locked up the visitors and did not allow a point.
Harrison Vickers nailed a corner triple at the buzzer as Maryville took a 51-21 lead into halftime.

Jackson opened the second half with a 3-pointer as the Saints extended their run to 24-0. The Phantoms finally scored for their first points in nearly nine minutes of game time.
Donovan Parker hit a 3-pointer as the margin brew to 40, and the Saints led by as many as 52 points in the second half. Every Maryville player who played scored at least three points in the game.

Swims scored a season-high 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting to pace the Saints. Jackson nearly had a double-double in the first half and finished with 13 points and eight rebounds. Scales and Jaedon Smith added 12 points apiece.
Gary Pendleton also matched Jackson with eight boards. The Saints drilled 15 3-pointers and shot a sizzling 57.7 percent from beyond the arc.
