Box Score St. Louis, Mo. – Playing back-to-back mid-week matches, the Maryville volleyball team rolled to a 3-1 triumph at University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy Wednesday evening. After dropping the opening set, the Saints reeled off three straight set wins.
Karolina Rodowski had a match-high 12 kills while hitting .429, and
Ella Kosky finished with a season-high 10 kills and a .467 hitting percentage.
A.J. Hallemann produced 24 digs and served six aces, while
Abbie Schnell handed out 30 assists.

What Happened
UHSP used an early run in the opening set to build a big lead. The Saints roared back with their own 4-0 burst and got back to within 14-9. Maryville closed the gap to 18-14 but the Eutectics held on to take set one.
Mikaela Kues notched a kill to start a 7-0 run.
A.J. Hallemann served consecutive aces, and Karolina Rowdowski pounded down a kill. A UHSP error built Maryville's cushion to 5-1 and caused the home team to call timeout. Hallemann continued her sterling play and tacked on two more aces for a 7-1 lead. After the Eutectics finally scored, the Saints used a 4-1 burst to build an 11-3 advantage.
Ella Kosky cranked in a kill as Maryville took a double-digit lead at 17-7. The Saints eventually took the set.

Maryville continued its strong play by scoring the first seven points of the third set. UHSP finally scored but the Saints pushed their advantage up to 10-2. An error by the Eutectics took the lead up to double digits. UHSP made a late charge but the Saints won to take a 2-1 lead. In the fourth set, Maryville took control with a 6-1 burst. The Saints doubled up UHSP 16-8 on a Rodowski kill and a 4-1 run gave them firm command of the set to end the match 25-16.
