St. Louis –
Karolina Rodowski and
Taylor Keck both recorded 15 kills apiece as the Maryville volleyball team closed out its home slate with a 3-1 triumph over Truman State. The Saints won by scores of 25-16, 24-26, 25-23, 25-17 to sweep the season series over the Bulldogs.
Alyssa Koska finished with 13 kills, while
A.J. Hallemann finished with 26 digs.

What Happened
An early 6-1 burst built a 13-7 edge for the Saints in set one. Truman got as close as 13-9 but another 6-1 run pushed the advantage to 19-10. The Saints cruised to take a 1-0 lead at 25-16 as Maryville's defense limited Truman to just a .028 hitting percentage. Set two was a see-saw battle. The Saints were down 16-12 but scored six consecutive points to grab an 18-16 edge. The Saints had set point at 24-22 but Truman tallied four in a row to even the match up.

Mikaela Kues had a kill before
Avery Bell sandwiched two aces around a kill by
Karolina Rodowski. Truman got to within 11-9 but the Saints answered with five straight. Keck's kill ignited the run, and Kues' service ace provided a 16-11 margin. Truman closed the gap and eventually tied the set at 23-23. Rodowski had a kill for set point, and Keck's kill gave the Saints the 25-23 win.

In the final set, the Saints broke away from a 5-3 lead to push out to an 8-3 advantage. Maryville's margin was stood at 16-12 before the Saints effectively took control with a 4-0 run. Keck had a kill, and Koska followed with another. After Rodowski put down a kill, she teamed with Koska on a block for a 20-12 margin.
Avery Bell and
Adriann Welte combined on the block that ended the match at 25-17.
