Lindenwood Recap
The Maryville University men's basketball team was looking for its third straight victory but Lindenwood used the long ball to stop the Saints 83-69 Thursday night.
Owen Long led Maryville with 22 points, while
Kamto Eze posted a double-double on a career-best 12 points and a career-high tying 11 rebounds. The Lions hit 13 3-pointers while shooting 50 percent from beyond the arc. The Saints shot a season-high 51.9 percent (27-of-52) in the contest.

What Happened
Lindenwood led 11-8 before the Saints reeled off nine straight points.
Owen Long knocked down a jumper, and
Davis Walker drilled a 3-pointer.
Jaelon Hood had a driving layup, and a Walker jumper was good for a 17-11 edge. The Lions came back and tied the score before the teams traded being out front. Lindenwood led 29-25 until Hood scored on another drive, and a
Daniel Farris jumper tied the game. In the last minute,
Jake Peterson converted a jumper from the left side that gave the Saints a 31-30 lead at intermission.

The teams traded baskets and the lead switched hands nine times before the Saints went on a 5-0 run. Down 49-46, Long hit a jumper, and Farris sank one at the line. Long connected again for a 51-49 Maryville led at the 11:21 mark.
Jaelon Hood converted two free throws to tie the game at 53-all with nine minutes left. However, the Lions scored 11 straight points, including three 3-pointers, in the decisive run. The Saints made one late push when
Davis Walker sank a 3-pointer. After two free throws by Hood, he scored on a layup to pull the Saints to within 73-66. The Lions went 6-for-6 in the final minute to hold on for the victory.
