The Maryville Saints D1 hockey team split a weekend series against Midwest College Hockey Conference rival McKendree University to push its record to 5-5 on the season.
Christian Alvegran scored four goals on the weekend to pace the Saints attack.
On Friday night in Lebanon, Ill., despite outshooting the Bearcats 45-33, the Saints fell to McKendree by a score of 3-1.
Jake Chartier scored the lone goal for Maryville. Johnny Massara was in net stopping 31-of-33 shots (third goal was an empty net goal).Â
Maryville bounced back Saturday night at the Maryville University Hockey Center with a 5-2 victory over the Bearcats. Alvegran tallied the first three Saints' goals as well as adding a goal with 6 minutes left to put the game out of reach.
Cole Bohnet scored the fourth goal on the power play.
Dominic Boily recorded his second win of the season stopping 32-of-42 shots.Â
Up next, the Saints will be traveling to Midland University for a pair of games starting Saturday, Feb. 27. Puck drop will be at 7:45 p.m.
