Southern Indiana Recap
Maryville volleyball team won set one and battled No. 13 Southern Indiana before USI rallied to win the match 3-1. Set scores were 21-25, 25-14, 25-19, 25-20 for the Screaming Eagles.
Rachel Hurt paced the Saints with 11 kills, while
Abbie Schnell directed the offense with 31 assists, and
Taylor Hasbrook came up with 11 digs.

What Happened
USI led for most of the opening set and still were up 19-15 before the Saints mounted a comeback. Hurt had a kill, and
Avery Wibbenmeyer served an ace. Schnell tipped in a ball to start a 4-0 run. After a USI error, Hurt notched another kill to tie the set.
Karolina Rodowski and Hurt recorded a kill to put the Saints ahead 21-20. The Screaming Eagles finally scored but the Saints closed out the set with another 4-0 burst.
Mikaela Kues had a kill, followed by
Hannah Scrum and Rodowski. Kued and Rodowski combined on a block for a 25-21 win. The Saints hit .280 in the set while holding USI to just a .100 mark.

The Saints pulled to within 7-6 in set two but USI went on a 9-0 burst to take control.
Avery Bell's kill stopped the run, and Maryville scored two of the next three points but USI went on to hit .314 in the set to tie the match. The Screaming Eagles scored five of the first six points in the third set before the Saints would not let USI pull away. A kill by Hurt and a USI error pulled Maryville to 17-15. However, the Saints could not tie the set.

Maryville took a 5-3 edge in the fourth but USI tallied four straight. Down 10-9, the Saints tallied three consecutive points for a 12-10 margin. The Screaming Eagles responded with eight straight and went on to close out the match.
