Rockhurst Recap
In a clash of nationally-ranked teams, the No. 20 Maryville men's lacrosse team defeated No. 13 Rockhurst 11-8 Saturday afternoon in Kansas City, Mo. The Saints stunned the Hawks by scoring the first eight goals and led the entire way.
Jake Foster scored three goals and added two assists, while
Ethan Olson also recorded a hat trick.
Justin Morgan tallied twice and added four assists.
Connor Robinson made 10 saves on the day in the nets.
What Happened
Morgan scored one minute into the game to give the Saints a lead they would not relinquish. He gave Maryville a 2-0 at the 12:17 mark before
Ben Foster and Olson scored 34 seconds apart.
Aidan Koenig found the back of the net for a 5-0 advantage after the first. After a
Jai Benson score,
Jake Foster tacked on two more within 20 seconds for an 8-0. Rockhurst finally recorded its first goal with eight seconds left in the half.

Rockhurst opened the third quarter with a goal but Olson and Foster pushed the lead back up to 10-2. Heading into the final frame. The Hawks tallied the first goal in the fourth but Olson answered for an 11-3 lead with 11:54 left. The Hawks made a late push and cut into the Maryville lead but the Saints held on to remain undefeated on the season.

The victory is the second for the Saints over a ranked team this season. Maryville downed Lindenwood, which was also ranked No. 13 at the time, with an 8-7 overtime victory. The Saints caused 18 turnovers and forced 30 Rockhurst miscues.
