Kaltwasser Scores Late to Help Saints Earn a 1-1 Draw with Drury

St. Louis – Amanda Kaltwasser scored with a little more than a minute remaining in regulation to help the Maryville women's soccer team earn a 1-1 draw with Drury Sunday afternoon at Maryville Field.

What Happened – The teams played to a scoreless first half, but they both had opportunities to crack the scoreboard. The Panthers had a shot ring off the crossbar in the 12th minute while Stacy Muehling saw a header off a corner kick just miss to the left side of the goal a few minutes later.

The Panthers took the lead in the 56th minute with a shot from 20-yards out to grab a 1-0 advantage. The Saints scored the equalizer in the 89th minute as Kaltwasser found the back of the net with a header from 5-yards out off a pass from Erin Barnes to tie the match at 1-1. Maryville had a chance to win with 34 seconds left in regulation, but the Panthers goalkeeper made a diving stop of a penalty kick to force overtime. Neither team was able to generate a scoring chance in the overtime periods as the game ended in a hard-fought draw.
