Quincy Recap
The Maryville volleyball team extended the match against Quincy but the Hawks prevailed in four sets 25-12, 25-18, 26-24, 25-21.
Mikaela Kues led the Saints with 10 kills in three sets of action.

What Happened
The Hawks jumped out to a big lead in rolling to the win in set one. The Saints went on a 5-1 run but Quincy hit .304 to take the 1-0 edge. Maryville scored the first two points in set two and were still up 8-7 after a QU miscue. The Hawks tallied four straight before
Ella Kosky and
Hannah Scrum had back-to-back kills to pull to within 16-14. Quincy went on a 5-1 run to close out the set.

In the third, the Saints stormed out of the gate by scoring the first five points. Quincy closed to 9-6 but the Saints twice went on 3-0 runs to build a 15-8 margin. A Kosky kill provided a 19-13 margin but QU tallied four straight. The Hawks chipped away and eventually tied the set at 22-22. Kues and Kosky scored two straight but Quincy answered with a 2-0 burst. Kues put down a kill, and a termination by
Faith Ahlhardt gave the Saints the 26-24 win. Set four saw six ties and three lead changes. The Hawks were up 11-7 until the Saints ripped off a 5-0 run to take a 12-11 edge. A kill by
Rachel Hurt was good for a 13-12 led until QU went ahead 15-14. The Saint closed to 16-15 but Quincy scored three straight to take control.

Avery Bell were second on the team with eight kills each.
Taylor Hasbrook recorded a match-high 20 digs, while
Abbie Schnell had a double-double on 38 assists and 10 digs.
