Playing its final home match of the season, the Maryville volleyball team hosted Lindenwood but saw the Lions move to a 25-11, 25-15, 25-13 victory Wednesday evening.
Rachel Hurt topped the Saints attack with 11 kills while hitting a sterling .474.
Abbie Schnell finished with 19 assists on the night.

What Happened
The Saints scored the first two points of the match on kills by
Mikaela Kues and Hurt. Lindenwood answered with three straight points until consecutive kills by Hurt put Maryville on top 4-3. The Lions reeled off a 6-0 burst to take a 9-4 edge. The Saints scored three of the next four points but never got any closer than four points the rest of the set.

Set two was close and the Saints were down only 11-7. However, the Lions used a 7-1 run to earn some separation.
Faith Ahlhardt had a kill to stop the Lindenwood run but the Saints never scored more than three straight points.

Hannah Scrum had a kill early in set three to put Maryville up, and the Saints still were leading 5-4 after a kill by
Ella Kosky. The Lions edged ahead but Scrum pounded down back-to-back points to forge a 10-10 tie. Lindenwood used two different 4-0 surges to take control.
