Victor DeGiorgio scored a pair of goals to push the Maryville men's soccer team past Southern Indiana 3-0 on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at Maryville Field. This is the fifth shutout posted by the Saints this season.
What Happened – DeGiorgio opened the scoring for the Saints as he collected a pass from
Mirza Hasecic on a breakaway and slid a shot into the left side of the goal in the 32
nd minute to give Maryville a 1-0 lead. Three minutes later,
Ricardo Andrade took a centering pass from
Sheriden Smith and found the back of the net from 10-yards out to extend the lead to 2-0. DeGiorgio scored his second of the day in the 82
nd minute with a shot from 12-yards out to the right side of the goal to put the Saints on top 3-0.
Inside the Numbers – Maryville outshot the Screaming Eagles 11-6 with four shots being on frame. DeGiorgio led the Saints offensive attack with six shots.
Liam Walraven had two saves en route to his ninth win of the season and his fourth clean sheet this year.
