St. Louis – The Maryville women's soccer team allowed a late first half goal and could not recover as the Saints fell to Southern Indiana 3-1 on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at Maryville Field.
What Happened – The Screaming Eagles grabbed the lead late in the first have with a goal the found the upper right corner of the net in the 44
th minute to take a 1-0 lead into the halftime locker room.
Southern Indiana pushed the lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 65
th minute and then added an insurance goal in the 87th minute to extend the lead to 3-0.
Erin Barnes put the saints on the scoreboard in the 88
th minute as she ripped a shot from 22-yards out into the upper left corner of the goal to make the score 3-1
Inside the Numbers – Southern Indiana outshot the Saints 9-7 in the match as both teams had five shots on goal.
Alex Johnson and
Amanda Kaltwasser each two shots to pace the Saints attack.
