Gentry's First Half Goal Lifts Saints to a 1-0 Upset Win Over No. 24 Indianapolis

Indianapolis – Lexi Gentry put the Maryville women's soccer team ahead in the first half and the Saints defense took control in the second half as Maryville upset No. 24 Indianapolis 1-0 Friday evening in Indianapolis. This is the first time in five attempts that the Saints have defeated the Greyhounds on the road at Key Stadium. 

What Happened – The Saints cracked the scoreboard in the 33rd minute as Gentry headed a pass from Sammi Fulson into the left side of the goal from 7-yards out to put Maryville on top 1-0. The Saints defense took control of the game in the second half as Maryville limited UIndy to three shots on goal in the final 45 minutes to come away with the win. 
 
Inside the Numbers – The Greyhounds held a 12-5 advantage in shots during the match. Gentry and Alex Johnson each had two shots to pace the Maryville attack. Katie Nash made five saves to earn her fourth clean sheet of the season. This is the third time in program history that Maryville has defeated a Top 25 team.
