St. Louis, Mo. – The Maryville University women's soccer team found its stride Sunday afternoon in a 2-1 come from behind win against William Jewell College. Senior Amanda Kaltwasser and sophomore Lexi Gentry collected the goals for the Saints in the Maryville University homecoming match.
 
The Run of Play – Eight minutes into the match, former Saint Alex Johnson netted a goal for her new team and put the Cardinals ahead 1-0. The Saints outshot the Cardinals 8-2 in the period but could not find the back of the net.
 
The offense started clicking in the second half thanks to 13 total shots. Junior Molly Krispin chipped in a free kick in the 52^nd minute and sophomore Halle Ezell was able to touch a bobbled ball by the 'keeper over to the senior, Kaltwasser, who slammed home her third goal of the year and tied the game at 1. In the 63^rd minute, Gentry stole the ball from the Cardinals outside the 18-yard box and beat three defenders to slot home the winner for the Saints.
 
Inside the Numbers – The 2-1 win gives Maryville a 5-4-3 edge over William Jewell all time.

Next Up – Maryville travels to Springfield, Mo., Friday Oct. 1, for an earlier than normal start against Drury University. The match with the Panthers will kick off at 10 a.m.
