West Palm Beach, Fla. – The Maryville University women's soccer team dropped the regular season opener 1-0 in double overtime against Palm Beach Atlantic University Friday night.

The Run of Play – Maryville produced seven shots in the first half and the best chance came from a penalty kick in the 42
nd minute, but the Saints misfired, and the two teams were tied 0-0 after the first 45 minutes.

Amanda Kaltwasser and
Kaetlin Wurdack peppered the Sailfish goalkeeper with back-to-back shots on goal in the 48
th minute, but both were denied. The match remained scoreless and headed to overtime.

In the second overtime period, the Sailfish slipped past the Saints defense and scored the winner in the 108
th minute to claim a 1-0 victory.
