St. Louis – The Maryville women's team dropped a 69-55 decision Thursday versus visiting Rockhurst.
Taylor Kirby tied for game high honors with 16 points and added five rebounds, while
Antoinette Mussorici chipped in 13 points. The Saints shot 83.3 percent at the free-throw line, hitting 20-of-24 attempts.

What Happened:
Kirby scored on a layup to tie the game at 2-2 but the Hawks tallied eight straight before she tacked on two more free throws. After one at the line by Mussorici,
Carsyn Fearday scored on a drive to pull the Saints to 10-7. However, Rockhurst built a 14-9 lead after one. The visitors kept a narrow edge but late buckets by Kirby and Mussorici pulled the Saints to within 28-20 at the break.

Down 39-25, the Saints rallied with an 11-2 burst. Free throws by Kirby and
Rylee Mulvaney trimmed the deficit to 41-36. The Hawks scored the final four points of the third and the first eight of the fourth quarter to take a 53-36 advantage. Maryville went on an 8-0 but the Hawks held on.
