Normandy, Mo. –
Ari Jackson sank four 3-pointers en route to 16 points and the Maryville men's basketball team committed only nine turnovers but Missouri-St. Louis defeated the Saints 76-62 Tuesday in the Mark Twain Building.
JT Morgan sank every shot he took, hitting both 3-pointers and all six free throws, and added 12 points, while
Harrison Vickers chipped in 11 points. The Tritons blazed the nets at a 58.8 percent shooting clip that proved to be the difference.

What Happened:
The Tritons tallied the first four points but a layup by Jackson sparked a 9-0 answer by the Saints. After Vickers sank one free throw, he added three straight buckets to push Maryville up 9-4. However, UMSL answered with its own big run before another layup by Vickers.
Cameron Scales splashed in a 3-pointer to pull the Saints to within 17-14. Maryville trailed only 26-24 after a Morgan triple but the Tritons took a 32-26 edge into the break.

Jaeden Smith sank a 3-pointer to keep the Saints close at 47-43 with 13 minutes to play. UMSL used a 6-0 burst to grab its first double-digit lead of the night. Maryville went on a 9-2 run as Scales finished a 3-point play and Jackson drained a deep shot from beyond the arc. A trey by Morgan drew the Saints to within 60-56 with seven minutes remaining. UMSL could not pull away and a tip in by
Daniel Farris cut the margin to 62-58 with 5:35 left. However, the Saints were unable to trim the deficit to one possession as UMSL edged away late.
