Ella Brinkmann led Maryville with 12 kills and a .524 hitting percentage but Rockhurst edged past the Saints 25-23, 25-17, 25-22.
Caroline Glastetter added nine kills and hit .368, while
Taylor Hasbrook finished with a match-high 16 digs.

Tied at 13-13, the Saints scored two straight to take a two-point lead. Later, a Glastetter kill put Maryville up 17-15. However, Rockhurst scored five straight to jump ahead. Consecutive kills by Glastetter and Brinkmann cut the deficit to 20-19. After a Hawks run, two Brinkmann kills and a block by
Lynsey Batson drew the Saints to 24-23 but Rockhurst took set one.

In set two, Maryville went ahead 10-9 on a block but Rockhurst reeled off a run to build a 16-10 lead. A Brinkmann kill ended the drought to trim the gap to 16-11 but the Saints never pulled the gap below four points. The Hawks slowly built up a 19-12 margin in the third set before the Saints made a charge.
Taylor Keck had a kill to spark a 6-1 run. A Rockhurst error pulled the Saints to within 20-18. Trailing 22-19,
Makenna Brauman and Brinkmann notched kills to chop the deficit to just 22-21.
Grace Knadler had one kill to save a match point but Rockhurst converted to end the match 25-22.
