St. Louis – Fueled by
Ella Brinkmann's double-double, the Maryville volleyball team swept Southwest Baptist 25-23, 25-23, 25-19 Friday evening. The freshman posted 20 kills and 14 digs while registering a sparkling .472 hitting percentage.

The Bearcats built up a 20-16 lead in set one before the Saints roared back with six straight points. Brinkmann started the run with a kill, and after an SBU error, she added another.
Abbie Schnell's ace tied the set, before a block by Brinkmann and
Hanna Dressing pushed the Saints ahead. Another Bearcat error closed the burst for a 22-20 lead. SBU tied the set but
Caroline Glastetter pounded down two straight kills to win the set.

Set two was close throughout as neither team led by more than three. The Saints were up 23-21 until SBU forged a tie at 23-all.
Grace Knadler put down a kill, and an SBU miscue gave Maryville the set at 25-23. In the final set, the Saints held an 8-7 edge before reeling off four straight points. Brinkmann had two kills and a block, and another service ace by Schnell built a 12-7 cushion. SBU stayed close until another 4-0 surge put the Saints up 20-13. Maryville kept the lead, and
Alyssa Koska's kill closed the match at 25-19.

Glastetter finished with seven kills, and
Olivia Klump added 10 digs. Schnell handed out 20 assists, and
Rachel Schipper chipped in 19 assists.
