St. Louis – The freshman duo of
Ella Brinkmann and
Caroline Glastetter powered the Maryville volleyball team past Drury Saturday afternoon 25-22, 25-23, 25-20. The victory is the first for the Saints over the Panthers since Oct. 3, 2014, and snapped a 10-match skid versus Drury. Brinkmann had her second straight double-double on 12 kills and 19 digs, while Glastetter hammered down 13 kills and a .600 hitting percentage.

Set one was tied at 20-20 until a DU hitting error sparked a 4-0 run.
Grace Knadler had a kill, Brinkmann served an ace, and a Glastetter kill earned a set point. Drury saved two before Glastetter finished off the set 25-22.

Maryville tallied the first four points of set two and stayed in front until Drury tied the score at 10-10. The teams traded 4-0 runs before Drury eventually edged ahead 22-21. Brinkmann answered with a kill, and after a Glastetter kill, Brinkmann served an ace.
Makenna Brauman finished the set with a kill for a 25-23 win.

Drury led 3-1 to open the third set before the Saints jumped in front with six straight points. The Panthers stayed close and drew to within 14-13. Maryville answered by scoring seven of the next nine points for a 21-15 advantage. Drury cut the gap to 22-20 before
Lily Brown added a kill. The Panthers committed two straight errors to close out the match. Brauman finished with a season-high nine kills, while
Olivia Klump finished with a season-best 13 digs.
Abbie Schnell distributed 25 assists, while
Karolina Rodowski paced the team with five blocks.
