Hammond, Ind. – Behind a career-high 12 kills by
Grace Knadler the Maryville volleyball team tied its Division II record for season wins at 15 with a 3-0 sweep of Saginaw Valley State. The contest was the final match of the Midwest Crossover Tournament. The Saints won by set scores of 25-23, 25-19, 25-16 to tie the 15 victories of the 2014 team.

The Saints trailed in set one 13-12 before surging ahead with a 4-0 run. SVSU tied the set at 17-all but Maryville scored three of the next four points to edge back ahead. The Cardinals answered to go in front at 23-22 but Knadler sandwiched two kills around on by
Ella Brinkmann to win the set 25-23.

SVSU built a 12-4 lead in the second set before the Saints scored four straight to start their comeback. A 5-0 run pulled Maryville to within 14-13. Back-to-back kills by
Grace Graham pushed the Saints ahead 19-18. Maryville sealed the win by scoring the final four points, capped by a Brinkmann kill.

In set three, Maryville found itself trailing 11-10 until embarking on an 8-1 burst.
Abbie Schnell tipped in a kill to start the run, and Knadler capped it with a kill. SVSU score one point but the Saints ran off four more points in a row. The Cardinals tried to stay close but the Saints sealed the match with a 5-1 run.
