Normandy, Mo. – The Maryville volleyball team won the opening set at Missouri-St. Louis but the Tritons rallied for a 23-25, 25-10, 25-20, 25-15 victory. UMSL overcame
Ella Brinkmann's double-double of 10 kills and 23 digs, the second highest total of her season.

The Saints opened the match with
Abbie Schnell serving two straight aces for a 4-0 lead. UMSL closed to within 9-7 but the Saints went on another 4-0 burst to stay out front. The set was eventually tied at 14-all and saw four more ties, with the last coming at 21-21.
Caroline Glastetter had a kill, and
Lynsey Batson and
Taylor Keck had a block for a 23-21 edge. The teams traded points before Brinkmann's kill ended the set at 25-23.

UMSL scored five straight and eight of nine points to jump ahead in set two. The Saints got as close as 11-5 but UMSL had its best hitting percentage of the match to pull even. The Tritons were up 15-14 in the third set. Keck's kill tied the set before Brinkmann and
Hanna Dressing combined on a block. An UMSL error handed the Saints a 17-15 advantage. However, the Tritons scored five of the next six points and held on to take the lead 2-1.

Brinkmann and an UMSL miscue gave the Saints a 6-4 lead. The Tritons went on a 5-0 run before the Saints closed to within 9-7. UMSL continued its push by scoring five of the next six points to pull away.
Grace Graham's kill cut the deficit to 15-10 but Maryville never trimmed the lead below four the rest of the way.
