INDIANAPOLIS – Maryville University women's soccer will face the sixth-seeded Drury Panthers at Maryville Soccer Field for the opening round of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament on Sunday, Oct 30., at 11 a.m. The Saints finished 6-0-6 in conference play to earn the third seed and their fifth postseason appearance.
The Saints started non-conference play with a 2-1 upset victory over No. 17 Ferris State before heading into their GLVC schedule at 2-0-1. Lori Chalupny's squad then started GLVC play with a tie with Indianapolis before winning four of its next six. The Saints eventually went on to post their first unbeaten GLVC schedule in program history at 6-0-6.
On the other side, the Panthers are making their 10th appearance in the GLVC tournament and are coming off a 2021 campaign where they won the title. This season, Drury went 3-2-7 in conference play, earning the sixth seed with a tiebreaker over Indianapolis due to a 3-1 win on Oct. 14.
When the Saints and Panthers met Friday, Oct. 7, the two teams tied in Springfield, Mo., with a 0-0 final score. Drury outshot the Saints 8-5, but Katie Nash secured the tie with a three-save shutout.
Admission to Sunday's game will be $10 and free for all Maryville students with their student IDs. Children under the age of five can enter for free.
