ST. LOUIS – The Maryville M1 ice hockey program went 1-1 last weekend against No. 7 Ohio University. The Saints opened with a 6-4 win on Friday night but the Bobcats responded on Saturday to win with a 4-2 final.

In Friday's game,
Will Smith kicked things off at 2:34 in the first period with his second goal of the season assisted by
TJ Prexler and
Timon Prexler.
TJ Prexler continued his big night with his third goal of the season at 2:33 in the second.

Ohio tied the game with two quick goals before
Jaxon White closed out the second period with his first goal of the season.
Chad McIlwain piled on with an early third-period goal followed by another from White.

Still battling, the Bobcats pulled within one with two more goals separated by less than three minutes.
Jack Harrison put the game away in the 19
th minute of the third period with his sixth goal of the season to secure a 6-4 win for the Saints.

Johnny Massara earned the win in net on Friday with 28 saves while
TJ Prexler paced his team with four points (1 G, 3 A) in the game.

Sophomore defenseman
Timon Prexler scored two goals on Saturday, but his effort was not enough as Ohio rode three unanswered goals to a 4-2 victory to force a split.

Next up the Saints will take on the McKendree University Bearcats on Thursday night for the fourth and final time this season. Maryville is 3-0 against them thus far trying to secure the season series sweep. The puck drop is set for 8 p.m. at the McKendree Rec Plex in Lebanon, Ill.
