LEBANON, Ill. – Maryville women's soccer will take on No. 17 McKendree University in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship Tournament at 5 p.m. on Friday. The Saints take on the tournament host and second-seeded Bearcats for a chance to play for a conference championship on Sunday, Nov. 6.
 
After finishing the regular season in third place in the GLVC standings with 24 points (6-0-6 record), Maryville took on sixth-seeded Drury University in the quarterfinals last Sunday. The team made a first-half goal from Elsa Nilson-Hurtig stand up as the game-winner, allowing no shots on goal to earn a 1-0 shutout victory over the Panthers.
 
The Saints will take on the Bearcats for the second time in a three-week span looking to earn their first appearance in a conference title match. On Oct. 21, Lori Chalupny's squad wrapped up its regular season in Lebanon, Ill., with a 1-1 draw after Lotte Brands' clutch goal in the 89th minute.
 
McKendree is coming off a quarterfinal win over the seventh-seed Indianapolis. The Bearcats fell behind 1-0 to the Greyhounds before getting a pair of second-half goals to stay alive in the bracket.
 
 Kickoff between the two teams is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 4, at Leemon Field in Lebanon, Ill.
