Maryville Set for Rematch with Grand Valley in NCAA Second Round

ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Maryville women's soccer team will take on Grand Valley State University in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The women are coming off their first victory in the NCAA Tournament in program history after taking down Northern Michigan University with Lotte Brands' goal in the 56th minute.

The Saints and the Lakers played back on Aug. 27, for the first meeting between the two teams in either's history. Maryville was outshot in the first half and surrendered a goal to Ryann Fetty at 15:17. Despite rebounding in the second half, the Saints were unable to find the back of the net and lost 1-0.

GVSU has not played since the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship game on Nov. 6, where they defeated Northern Michigan with a 2-1 final.

The rematch in the second round of the NCAA Tournament will take place on Sunday, Nov. 13, on the campus of GVSU. The kickoff is scheduled for noon (CT)/1 p.m. (ET).
