INDIANAPOLIS – Maryville University women's soccer will open the NCAA Tournament against Northern Michigan University in Allendale, Mich., on Friday, Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. (CT). The Saints earn their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament after winning the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship this weekend.
The Saints won their first GLVC Tournament in program history after taking down Drury University, No. 17 McKendree University, and the University of Illinois Springfield. The women's program enters the NCAA Tournament with an 11-2-6 record including two wins over top-25 teams this season.
The NCAA DII Tournament is composed of 56 teams from across the nation broken up into eight Regions. Maryville will take part in the Midwest region which also includes teams from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference and the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The winner of the Regional will advance to the National Semifinals played on Thursday, Dec. 1
at Interbay Stadium in Seattle, Wash.
