Indianapolis - Maryville freshman Ella Brinkmann was named to the 2022 All-Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Second Team as announced tonight by the league. Brinkmann is the first Saint to earn All-Conference honors since Ali Lampen was a second team selection in 2015.
 
Brinkmann has been a standout for the Saints, leading the team in kills (338) and ranks fifth in the GLVC. She also topped Maryville in service aces (36) and blocks (43). Brinkmann notched 18 double-doubles this season, posted double-digit kill totals in 20 matches and had at least 10 digs in 24 contests. She recorded a season-high 22 kills versus Tiffin and came up with 25 digs at Illinois Springfield.
 
Brinkmann has led the Saints to the most wins in the Division II era with 17 this season, the highest since the 1999 team won 18. She helped guide Maryville to its first appearance in the GLVC Tournament. In addition, Anna Johnson was Maryville's James R. Spalding Sportsmanship honoree.
 
The Saints earned the No. 8 seed and face No. 1 seed Quincy Thursday, Nov. 10, at 11:30 a.m. in East Peoria, Ill.
