St. Louis – Maryville women's basketball scored the first 18 points of the game and rolled to an 80-42 victory over Baptist Bible Wednesday. The Saints defense kept the Patriots off the scoreboard until the 5:21 mark as the visitors missed their first eight shots of the game.
Haidyn Pitsch led the Saints with 20 points on 8-of-9 shooting, the third-best single-game shooting percentage (88.9 percent) in school history with at least eight made field goals. All 12 Saints who played in the game scored.

Haidyn Pitsch sank a jumper on the first possession of the game for a lead the Saints would not surrender. She followed with a 3-pointer, and
Taylor Kirby sank two at the free-throw line.
Hunter Stidham knocked down a triple, and
Carsyn Fearday converted a fastbreak layup. Pitsch and Stidham splashed in back-to-back 3-pointers for an 18-0 advantage. The Patriots finally scored but the Saints cruised to a 27-4 lead after the opening quarter. Maryville hit 10-of-16 shots in the frame (62.5 percent).

Baptist Bible scored the first four points of the second quarter but the Saints answered with seven straight points to take their first 20-point lead of the game. The Saints eventually settled for a 43-18 lead at halftime. The Patriots hit a 3-pointer to open the third before Maryville reeled off nine straight points and eventually pushed its advantage to more than 30 points.

Carsyn Fearday added 11 points, while
Maddy Meehan pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds. The Maryville defense limited the Patriots to just 25 percent shooting (14-of-56).
